One thousand stories. That's a lot of words about a lot of watches, and as of last week our editor-in-chief, Jack Forster, has hit that monumental milestone. Going back to when he joined the team, on June 1, 2015, Jack has written hundreds-of-thousands of words about thousands of watches, and he's done so from a few different continents in close to a dozen time zones. To celebrate, I sat down with Jack for a virtual toast and trip down memory lane, giving us a chance to reflect on all of his horological musings, what he's learned over the years, and what he's most excited about on his quest to 2,000 stories.
If anyone's looking to get Jack a congratulatory gift, a 36mm yellow gold Replica Rolex Day-Date will surely do the trick.
To kick things off, Jack and I talk about how he first got into replica watches and how that strange journey led him to HODINKEE HQ in Soho. There are plenty of "good old days" stories, as well as plenty of crazy tales from reporting trips to Geneva, long days of interviews in the Vallée de Joux, and even the odd pop-over to Tokyo. Jack also counts down his five favorite HODINKEE stories from his six-plus years on the team. Any guesses as to what number one is? It's a weird one, but you're just going to have to listen to hear what it is.
We hope you enjoy this episode of HODINKEE Radio. Do you have your own favorite Jack Foster stories? Got any questions for the man himself? Let us know down in the comments below.
